| River Chiefs Blank Cyclones, Castillo Wins | Coney Island dropped a 5-0 shutout to Junior Castillo and the Chippewa River Chiefs at Coney Island Coliseum today. The Cyclones offered little resistance to Castillo, who stopped them on 4 hits, fanned 9 and walked 1.
"It just felt right today," the right-handed Castillo told reporters after the win. "Even with the rain, it didn't throw me off my rhythm."
To this point in the season he has had no saves. Castillo has made no relief appearances, tossed 186.2 innings and struck out 151 with a record of 14 wins and 6 losses. |
