| Dancin' Outlaws Sneak Past Orphans, 6-5 | The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws eked out a 6-5 win versus the Cambridge Orphans at Abbey Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Javier Barela, who captured player of the game honors. Barela got the win, improving to 11-6. He allowed 9 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Barela allowed 5 earned runs. West Virginia is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Had Bert Ferrer not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Ferrer hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Dancin' Outlaws.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Ferrer said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
