| Crosscutters Get Close Win Over Gnats | The Nichols Gnats got a sterling performance from pitcher Ricardo Ortiz, but the Crosscutters still prevailed, 4-3. Ortiz was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 6-hit ball. Even with the win, the Crosscutters have a dismal 41-80 record.
Greg Jordan was the walk-off hero for Williamsport. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Crosscutters right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
