| Berg, Nichols Prevail in Pitchers' Duel | The Nichols Gnats got a strong performance from pitcher Sam Berg, who stymied the Williamsport offense en route to a 2-1 win at Crosscutters Park. The Gnats bumped their record to 61-59 with this latest triumph.
Berg dominated for Nichols, raising his record to 3-10. Williamsport hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 4 hits over 8 innings while striking out 4.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Berg told the Nichols Bulletin.
