| Black Squirrels Stymie Bel Air, Take 4-1 Win | The Tree City Black Squirrels topped the Bel Air Princes, 4-1, in RCLA action at Philip Banks Field. The player of the game was Tree City pitcher and Milwaukee, Wisconsin native Steve Steenburg. Steenburg got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 2 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Steenburg allowed 1 earned run. Jaime Tait earned his 11th save in 16 chances.
The Black Squirrels got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Wade Newman. For the game, Newman was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Tree City a 3-1 lead.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Steenburg.
The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 64-56 with this latest triumph.
