| Victory Pushes Sting Record to 65-51 | Getting a good performance from designated hitter Tony Vasquez, the Houston Sting defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 9-6. Vasquez was 2 for 2 with a double, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Sting. David Hernandez earned his 10th save in 10 chances. The Sting bumped their record to 65-51 with this latest triumph.
Vasquez had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Eric McNeil, he banged a bases-clearing double to left-center, giving the Sting a 8-5 lead. It was the 4th double of the year for Vasquez.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Vasquez.
