| Victory Over River Chiefs Takes Kingwood to 80-38 | Chippewa center fielder Javier Matos had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Matos went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, even as Kingwood beat the River Chiefs, 8-6. Matos was named the player of the game despite the loss. Kingwood reliever Omar Cruz was the winner. His record is now 5-0. Paul Childers took the loss. The Knights have an impressive 80-38 record.
Tobias Garcia hit a 2-run double off Paul Childers in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Knights in front, 7-6. In addition to the double, Garcia had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Garcia.
