| Warriors Rally to Eke Out Win | The Warriors faced a stiff challenge from Williamsport pitcher Dave Castro, but persevered to claim a win at The Barn. The final score was 5-4. Castro went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Winfield reliever Andres Garmendia was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Sergio Rodas took the loss for Williamsport. The Crosscutters, at 38-76, have lost 4 straight games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 15th inning, when Winfield center fielder Bill Cota, facing Steve Osborne, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Warriors the 5-4 win.
In postgame comments to the Winfield Daily, Cota said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
