| Hornets Solve Sting, 6-2 | The Bethesda Hornets defeated the Houston Sting, 6-2, at Hornets Field today. Leading the charge for Bethesda was second baseman Guillermo Mayen. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The Hornets, at 45-68, sit in last place in the RCLA Tommy Lasorda Division.
The Hornets got a big at-bat from designated hitter Javier Carpio. For the game, Carpio went 1-4. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 10th hit of the season gave Bethesda a 2-1 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Mayen told the Bethesda Observer. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
