| Black Squirrels Prevail, 2-0, Over Eugene | The Tree City Black Squirrels got a magnificent performance from pitcher Steve Steenburg, who muffled the Eugene offense en route to a tight 2-0 Black Squirrels win at The Nut House. Steenburg, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. Tree City is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Hedde Fermin hit a run-scoring triple off Jared Farnham in the bottom of the third, which put the Black Squirrels in front, 1-0. Fermin had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 3.
