| Victory Over Saints Takes Kingwood to 77-35 | The Kingwood Knights overcame a good performance by St. Paul left fielder Israel Saltos to knock off St. Paul, 7-4, at Saints Ballpark. Saltos went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Kingwood is now 77-35, 12½ games up in the TMLA Dick Williams Division.
Kingwood used the bat of Akira Kaneko to get the win. The second baseman hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Knights ahead, 5-3. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," Kaneko said in postgame remarks. "Soon enough, the finish line will be in sight."
