| Black Squirrels Prevail, 3-1, Over Eugene | In a tight game between the Tree City Black Squirrels and the Eugene Emeralds, pitcher Jesus Ambriz was terrific on the mound. The Tree City left-hander was named the player of the game in Tree City's 3-1 win. In 5.2 innings, Ambriz surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 5. He allowed 1 run. Jaime Tait got the save, his 9th in 14 chances.
Adrian Moylan went 1 for 4 against the Emeralds. In the bottom of the first inning, he hit a run-scoring single, putting Tree City in front, 1-0.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Ambriz said.
The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 61-53 with this latest triumph.
