| Mustangs Lose, 5-2, at The Reservation | The inspired effort of San Angelo center fielder Bill Leal was not enough to prevent a 5-2 loss to the Chippewa River Chiefs. Leal was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 61-50 with this latest triumph.
The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from center fielder Javier Matos. For the game, Matos went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Chippewa a 3-2 lead.
Matos attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
