| Mustangs Win at Kingwood, 5-2 | The San Angelo Mustangs racked up a win at Stable Park, bumping off the Kingwood Knights, 5-2. Eric Watson, who started for San Angelo, pitched effectively for his team. San Angelo, at 50-58, sits in 4th place in the TMLA Earl Weaver Division.
The Mustangs got a big at-bat from right fielder Mike Montero. For the game, Montero went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 5th home run of the season gave San Angelo a 4-0 lead.
"Eric's tempo and rhythm were good," said Mustangs manager Cliff Moon. "He was the key to us winning."
