| Easler Excels in Charleston Win | The Charleston Panthers topped the New Orleans Jedi Knights, 7-3, in TMLA action at Franklin Mountains Field. The player of the game was Charleston catcher Gerald Easler. Greg Rattray saved it for Charleston. The Panthers bumped their record to 54-52 with this latest triumph.
Had Mitchell Gilbert not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Gilbert hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Panthers.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Gilbert told the Charleston Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
