| Warriors Need Extras to Top Cyclones | The Winfield Warriors topped the Coney Island Cyclones, 6-5, in TMLA action at The Barn. The player of the game was Winfield pitcher Sam Shippy. Winfield's record now stands at 44-61, placing them 5th in the TMLA Earl Weaver Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 15th inning, when Winfield second baseman Jim Goudeau, facing Bobby Roche, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Warriors the 6-5 win.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Goudeau told the Winfield Daily. "It's as simple as that."
