| Tight Tilt Goes to Orphans, 4-3 | The Cambridge Orphans topped the Houston Sting, 4-3, in RCLA action at Woodland Park. The player of the game was Cambridge right fielder Taylor Ellis. Luis Zarate was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Rusty Tine was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 6 save opportunities.
Ellis had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-0 changeup from Hugh Umlah, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Orphans a 4-2 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Ellis.
