| Victory Pushes Tornadoes Record to 39-22 | Kansas City and Quebec duked it out at Lucky 7 Ballpark and the Tornadoes came out victorious.
The Kansas City Tornadoes beat the Quebec Armada, 8-6, at Lucky 7 Ballpark. Kansas City third baseman Armando Galdos earned player of the game honors. He collected 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 1 runs. Luis Hernández, the winner, improved to 7-5. He held Quebec to 4 earned runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the fifth inning. That's when designated hitter Omar Avila, who is the 4th-best prospect in the Tornadoes organization, drew a walk. The Tornadoes went on to win.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Fernando Vargas.
