| River Chiefs Beat Jedi Knights in 10 | In a tight contest at The Reservation, the Chippewa River Chiefs edged the New Orleans Jedi Knights by the score of 7-6. Chippewa second baseman Luke Corbett, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Reliever Chris Terry picked up the win. His record improves to 3-3. Adrian Bogle took the loss. Chippewa is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from right fielder Eddie Linares. For the game, Linares was 2 for 5 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 59th hit of the season gave Chippewa a 7-6 lead.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Corbett said in his postgame press conference.
