| Armijo Powers Hornets to 9-6 Win | The Bethesda Hornets topped the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 9-6, in RCLA action at Baylor Ballpark. The player of the game was Bethesda left fielder Alex Armijo. Reliever Tony Delgado picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Jose Laracuente took the loss. J.P. Frazier notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
Armijo had a game-changing single in the top of the ninth. On a 2-1 sinker from Jose Laracuente, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Hornets a 8-6 lead. It was the 71st hit of the year for Armijo.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Hornets manager Bob Reece. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
The last-place Hornets raised their record to 42-61.
