| Pioneers Solve Blazers, 6-3 | The Vancouver Pioneers topped the Bloomington Blazers by the score of 6-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter Colin Carpenter. Carpenter was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Pioneers on the day. The win was credited to Ryan Merrill in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Juan Figueroa took the loss. Darren Thomas converted his 5th save in 5 tries.
It could have been a different outcome for Vancouver, had it not been for Mike Duren, the 26-year old right fielder . Duren contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the second inning to put Vancouver up, 2-0.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Carpenter said.
Today's win puts Vancouver at 21-38, while Bloomington falls to 32-27.
