| River Chiefs Lose, 4-0, at Prefontaine Park | The Eugene Emeralds got a stellar performance from pitcher Wayne Sweeney, who handcuffed the Chippewa offense en route to a 4-0 win at Prefontaine Park. At 42-58, the Emeralds are currently 5th in the RCLA Tommy Lasorda Division.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, right fielder Jared Carpenter came through big-time for the Emeralds. With Eugene leading 2-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"It was a good effort all around," said Sweeney.
