| Bombers Slip Past Maple, 7-6 | The South Carolina Bombers beat the Maple Marauders, 7-6 at Legends Park, in part due to right fielder Ernesto Argueta, who nabbed player of the game honors. He went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Sandy Ponce in relief. His record improves to 4-0. Minoru Aoki took the loss. Today's win puts South Carolina at 26-32, while Maple falls to 28-31.
Argueta had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from Minoru Aoki, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Bombers a 7-6 lead. It was the 22nd home run of the year for Argueta.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Argueta. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
