| Sting Clip Vikings in Tight Contest | The Victoria Vikings got a superb performance from pitcher Orlando Cordoba. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Houston. The Sting won the game, 4-1. In spite of the loss, Cordoba was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. The win was credited to Dave Lopez in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Nick Germinaro took the loss. The Sting bumped their record to 56-41 with this latest triumph.
Camren Bontrager made it 3-1 in favor of Houston when he delivered a 2-run single. It came with one out in the top of the eighth. The Sting went on to win.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Bontrager.
