| Bush Wackers Solve Pelicans, 6-5 | The Brisbane Bush Wackers did just enough to secure a 6-5 victory over the St. Petersburg Pelicans at Billy Mathews Field. Nobody did more than left fielder Marco Romo, who captured player of the game honors. Chris Peake earned the win to go to 7-8. He allowed 3 earned runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Patrick Blakey converted his 1st save in 1 tries.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when designated hitter Ross Centner, who is tied for 8th in the RA in triples with 3, drew a walk. The Bush Wackers went on to win.
"We played hard and won," said Romo. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The 'W' lifts Brisbane's record to 40-55.
