Late Rally by Sting Seals 4th Straight Win

The Houston Sting beat the Westside Road Warriors, 8-6, at Woodland Park. The Sting got a fine performance from shortstop Luis Escalante, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. The win was Jason Gurwitz's in relief. His record improves to 5-5. Ken Maynard took the loss for Westside. David Hernandez, credited with the save, is now 5 for 5 in save opportunities.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 3rd and one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when right fielder Evan Engel got hit by a pitch. The Sting went on to win.

"Feels good to get the job done," Engel said after the game.

The second-place Sting now have a 4-game winning streak.
