| Victory Pushes Sting Record to 54-39 | The Houston Sting beat the Eugene Emeralds, 7-4, at Prefontaine Park. The Sting got a fine performance from center fielder Andy Robinson, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Houston reliever Jim Riggs got the win, raising his record to 11-1. Pablo Baca was tagged with the loss. The Sting bumped their record to 54-39 with this latest triumph.
Robinson had a big at-bat with a runner on 3rd in the top of the second inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Sting went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Robinson told the Houston Gazette.
