| Hornets Lose, 8-3, at Road Warriors Field | The Westside Road Warriors topped the Bethesda Hornets by the score of 8-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Bob Hunt. Hunt was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Road Warriors on the day. Jon Duren got the win, improving to 7-8. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 4 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 5. Manuel Visser notched his 5th save in 8 chances.
The Road Warriors got a big at-bat from catcher Alexander Mathews. For the game, Mathews went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 31st hit of the season gave Westside a 3-1 lead.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Hunt.
