Victory Pushes Knights Record to 62-29

The Chippewa River Chiefs got a superb performance from pitcher Lorenzo Chavez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Kingwood. The Knights won the game, 4-1. In spite of the loss, Chavez was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. The win was credited to Jacob Olsen in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Lorenzo Chavez took the loss. The Knights have an impressive 62-29 record.

The Knights got a big at-bat from catcher Cesar Gonzalez. For the game, Gonzalez went 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Kingwood a 1-0 lead.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gonzalez. "And not try to do too much."
