| Kings Topple Pelicans with Late Rally | St. Petersburg pitcher Mario Pagan gave the Kings all they could handle, but in the end, Atlantic City left Billy Mathews Field with a 5-0 win. Pagan allowed no earned runs on 4 hits over 7.1 innings. Atlantic City reliever Carlos Hernandez was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Marlon Douglas took the loss. The Kings bumped their record to 53-37 with this latest triumph.
Atlantic City used the clutch hitting of Alex Ramirez to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to give the Kings the lead, 1-0. For the game, Ramirez had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"It feels good to get this one," Ramirez told the Atlantic City Herald.
