| Pioneers Win at Bloomington, 5-2 | Vancouver and Bloomington duked it out at Arson Arena and the Pioneers came out victorious.
The Pioneers faced a stiff challenge from Bloomington pitcher Kenko Samurakami, but persevered to claim a win at Arson Arena. The final score was 5-2. Samurakami went 9 innings and allowed 4 earned runs. Vancouver reliever Mickael Raymond was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. Kenko Samurakami took the loss for Bloomington.
The Pioneers got a big at-bat from third baseman Dan Rollins. For the game, Rollins was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Vancouver a 3-1 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Rollins told reporters after the game.
Vancouver is in last place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division with a record of 20-37.
