| Texans Need Extra Frames to Get Past Hops | The Dallas Texans picked up a win at The Brew Stade, knocking off the San Diego Hops, 5-3. Starting pitcher Charlie Haydon, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The win was credited to Sam Thomas in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Chris Elwell took the loss. Dallas, now 1-6, is off to a slow start.
The Texans got a big at-bat from catcher Augusto Reyes. For the game, Reyes was 1-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the 11th, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Dallas a 5-3 lead.
Haydon told a Dallas Herald reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
