| Black Squirrels Turn Back Eugene, 5-4 | Starting pitcher Mike Hollis pitched well enough to help the Tree City Black Squirrels beat the Eugene Emeralds by the score of 5-4. Reliever Alex Gomez picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Carlos Ortiz took the loss. The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 47-42 with this latest triumph.
Tree City took a 5-4 lead on Wade Newman's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Eugene pitcher Carlos Ortiz in the bottom of the seventh.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Eugene manager Ricardo Martínez.
