| Panthers Score Late, Stun River Chiefs, 3-1 | Jose Ortiz was superb against Chippewa. The right-hander, who is tied for 8th in the TA in strikeouts with 117, had a curveball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a 3-1 Panthers victory. Reliever Zach Hensler picked up the win. His record improves to 2-5. Juan Bravo took the loss. Charleston is now 42-43, while Chippewa is 47-40.
Antonio Flores was the walk-off hero for Charleston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Panthers center fielder hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"This place was rocking at the end," Ortiz said.
