| River Chiefs Nip Panthers, 5-4 | The Chippewa River Chiefs scored a 5-4 win versus the Charleston Panthers at Franklin Mountains Field. Chippewa first baseman Mark Cook nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Juan Bravo notched his 5th save in 6 chances. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 47-39 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the third inning. That's when third baseman Bobby Balik, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2037 draft, drew a walk. The River Chiefs went on to win.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Chippewa manager Eric Rice.
