The Charleston Panthers stopped the Kingwood Knights, 5-4, at Stable Park. The Panthers got a big game from Paul Seibold, who was 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times. The Panthers raised their record to 41-42.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Akiharu Kochi came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Kingwood pitcher Alton Lesage, he hit a first pitch changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Charleston on top, 5-4.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Charleston manager Jim Crawford.
