| Black Squirrels Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Houston | Tree City Black Squirrels starter Mike Hollis was in fine form against the Houston Sting at Woodland Park, leading his team to a 6-2 win. The winning pitcher was Hollis, now 4-0. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 6. The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 45-39 with this latest triumph.
The Black Squirrels got a big at-bat from designated hitter John Begley. For the game, Begley went 1-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 11th double of the season gave Tree City a 3-1 lead.
"We had a nice day," said Tree City skipper Doug Bergeron.
