| River Chiefs Walk Off with 10-9 Win | The Chippewa River Chiefs beat the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 10-9, at The Reservation. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Mark Cook, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The River Chiefs improve their record to 46-37 with the win over Okanagan.
Cook contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Chippewa in the bottom of the ninth. With his team trailing 9-6, Cook took a slider from Jesús Velásquez and stroked the home run to right. His 14th home run of the season allowed the River Chiefs to leap in front, 10-9.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Cook said after the game.
