| Hornets Slip Past Chippewa, 3-2 | Bethesda overcame a superlative game from Junior Castillo to beat Chippewa, 3-2. The Chippewa pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. Bethesda reliever Frank Teran picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Juan Bravo shouldered the loss. The 5th-place Hornets improved to 38-42.
Bethesda used the clutch hitting of Guillermo Mayen to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to give the Hornets the lead, 3-2. For the game, Mayen had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
In postgame comments to the Bethesda Observer, Mayen said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
