| Kings Prevail, 5-4, Over San Angelo | The San Angelo Mustangs and Atlantic City Kings provided some drama at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium.
In a close game at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium, the Atlantic City Kings edged the San Angelo Mustangs, 5-4. Atlantic City first baseman Bill Hopkins earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Matt Merlet in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Ted Lincoln took the loss. Christian Barnes notched his 4th save in 4 chances.
Hopkins had a key at-bat for Atlantic City early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and gave Atlantic City an early 2-0 lead.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said San Angelo manager Cliff Moon.
The Kings bumped their record to 45-31 with this latest triumph.
