| Victory Over Gnats Takes Bel Air to 56-23 | Bel Air right-hander Dave Velasco was in fine form, shutting out the Nichols Gnats, 5-0. Velasco went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 9-2. The Princes improved to a lofty 56-23.
The Princes got a big at-bat from catcher Oscar Ogas. For the game, Ogas was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Bel Air a 4-0 lead.
