| Emeralds Shut Out Jedi Knights | The New Orleans Jedi Knights got a sterling performance from pitcher Chad McClure, but the Emeralds still prevailed, 2-0. McClure was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings allowing 2 runs. Jesse Lay converted his 8th save in 13 tries. Eugene is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Jim Overby put Eugene in front, 2-0, when he took Chad McClure downtown. His solo home run came with two out in the bottom of the third. It was his 6th home run of the season.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said New Orleans manager Pedro Gonzáles. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
