| Sting Come Back Late to Top Crosscutters | The 2038 season is getting ugly for Williamsport.
Sting left fielder Lupe Vazquez put his stamp on his team's 6-5 win over the Williamsport Crosscutters. Vazquez was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times for Houston in the contest. Houston reliever Jason Gurwitz was the winner. His record is now 3-3. Ryan Hatch took the loss.
Frank Polanco drove in one run for Houston. The speedster had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Steve Osborne. It was his 14th RBI of the season.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Williamsport manager Michael Ashe. "But we decided not to take it."
This win makes it 6 in a row for Houston.
