The St. Petersburg Pelicans defeated the Charleston Panthers, 4-2, in Donnie Moore League action at Billy Mathews Field, with St. Petersburg pitcher Yukio Inouye named player of the game. In 5.2 innings, Inouye surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 2 runs. A.J. Schneider notched his 13th save in 14 chances.
The Pelicans got a big at-bat from designated hitter Paul Brew Jr.. For the game, Brew Jr. was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave St. Petersburg a 3-2 lead.
