Veliz Hits 2 home runs in Panthers Win

It was a good time at Franklin Mountains Field, where fans came to watch the San Angelo Mustangs and Charleston Panthers get after it.

The Charleston Panthers topped the San Angelo Mustangs by the score of 4-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Omar Veliz. Veliz went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Panthers on the day. Charleston has now won 4 games in a row.

Early in the game, Veliz had a 2-run home run for Charleston. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Panthers on top, 2-0.

In comments to the Charleston Chronicle, Veliz admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
