| Orphans Come Back Late, Nip Emeralds | The Cambridge Orphans topped the Eugene Emeralds, 6-5, in Donnie Moore League action at Prefontaine Park. The player of the game was Cambridge pitcher and Bitonto, Italy native Tristan Soreni. The winner was Rafael Padilla in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Jesse Lay took the loss. Even with the win, the Orphans have a dismal 23-48 record.
Carlos Arellano, who is tied for 4th in the DML with a .401 on-base percentage, aided the Cambridge cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth. For the game, the shortstop was 1-2 with 3 walks.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Arellano.
