Sting Rally to Eke Out Win

The Dublin Vikings got a superb performance from pitcher Manny Becerra. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Houston. The Sting won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Becerra was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of shutout ball. The winner was Jorge Jaranillo in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Luis Herrera took the loss. The first-place Vikings have dropped 5 straight games.

The Sting got a big at-bat from designated hitter Matt Hudson. For the game, Hudson went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 45th hit of the season gave Houston a 6-5 lead.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Hudson.
