| Jedi Knights Turn Back Chippewa, 9-8 | Fans who came to The Republic watched the New Orleans Jedi Knights and the Chippewa River Chiefs fight to the finish.
Despite a great performance by Chippewa first baseman Mark Cook, the New Orleans Jedi Knights defeated the River Chiefs by the score of 9-8 at The Republic. Cook went 2 for 3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Geoff Baxter converted his 3rd save in 4 tries.
Nick Rowley, who is tied for 5th in the LBL in home runs with 12, aided the New Orleans cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the first baseman was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Rowley told the New Orleans Citizen.
The Jedi Knights bumped their record to 42-33 with this latest triumph.
