| Knights Bridle Crosscutters, 2-1 | Fans who came to Crosscutters Park watched the Kingwood Knights and the Williamsport Crosscutters fight to the finish.
The Knights had to overcome a fine performance from Williamsport pitcher Shawn Thompson to grab a 2-1 win at Crosscutters Park. Thompson allowed 1 earned run over 6 innings. Zak Osborn notched his 18th save in 21 chances.
The Knights got a big at-bat from second baseman Oscar Arballo. For the game, Arballo went 1-3 with a walk. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 47th hit of the season gave Kingwood a 2-1 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Kingwood skipper Chris Schell.
Kingwood has an impressive 48-24 record.
