| Gnats Walk It Off for 38th Win of Season | The Nichols Gnats beat the Charleston Panthers, 5-4, at The Pond. Nichols first baseman Bryan McGregor earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. The Gnats bumped their record to 38-32 with this latest triumph.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Nichols pinch hitter Naoya Omachi, facing Greg Rattray, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Gnats the 5-4 win.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said McGregor.
